Recipe for Healthy Skin and Hair: Raspberry Lemonade Shake

Jessica here! After writing my Beauty Bowl blog, I started thinking about how important nutrition is for healthy hair, skin, and nails. My clients are always asking me what I eat so that inspired me to share more of my recipes for healthy skin and hair.

In this blog, I’ll be sharing the ingredients for one of my favorite shakes: The raspberry lemonade shake. Snag the ingredients, directions, and health benefits below ;)

What You’ll Need to Make a Raspberry Lemonade Shake

Like most smoothies, this recipe is super easy to make at home. You can mold it to your taste buds by adding more or less of your favorite ingredients.


  1. A pint of raspberries
  2. A few sprigs of cilantro
  3. A banana
  4. Half a lemon
  5. Water

Directions for Blending

  1. Add all the non-liquid ingredients to the blender.
  2. Add equal parts of water. (If you like it more liquified so it's easier to drink, just add some extra water. If you want it to be like a thicker smoothie, you can add less water).
  3. Enjoy!

Raspberries are one of my favourite foods! Not only are they sweet and delicious, but they’re also filled with benefits for healthy skin and hair. The anti-inflammatory properties help your body’s biggest organ (the skin) combat redness and antioxidants help to strengthen your immune system. The high Vitamin C content of raspberries is great for preventing wrinkles as it supports collagen synthesis.

An immune booster in its own respect, cilantro is considered an ‘all-around amazing detox herb’. The natural deodorant element of cilantro means when your head sweats, your hair won’t smell as bad. More importantly, the detoxifying aspects of cilantro will improve your overall health and wellness. With a good diet and a low toxin count, clear skin is around the corner!

The banana is another anti-inflammatory fruit that comes with a slew of benefits. From fighting high blood pressure to curbing your cravings, the banana compliments natural wellness. Increasing your overall wellness means better sleep. Better sleep means better skin.

Yes, I know the graphic says ‘lemon water; but the health benefits remain the same. Lemon is a miracle fruit in my eyes! It balances your PH levels, boosts your immune system, and decreases wrinkles. Did I mention it helps support healthy weight loss? What more could you want?!
